Policies and Protection
Ashtead Football Club (AFC) is committed to ensuring that all children and young people have the opportunity to play football in a safe environment.
The Club has signed up to the FA’s Anti Bullying and Child Protection polices and copies of these can be found on the website.
Ashtead FC and its members also advocates the FA’s Respect programme which involves a number of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in football- on the pitch and from the sidelines.
All Managers, Coaches and helpers who have regular contact with the children have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB/ DBS) check which is carried out via the FA. Furthermore, the Club has a Welfare Officer (CWO) who has undergone training on Safeguarding Children and has experience of working in a Children Services department of a local authority. The CWO is responsible for ensuring the CRB/ DBS checks are carried out, offers guidance to managers and parents about safeguarding children and is the contact between the County Welfare Officer and the League Welfare Officer.
We would prefer it that no photographs or videos were taken at training or matches ( unless professionally commissioned), due to the difficulty in ensuring all written consent is gained from every family it involves. Many thanks for your co-operation.
If you would you like further information or have any queries or concerns please contact the Club Welfare Officer, by visiting out contact us page.
