Ashtead Football Club (AFC) is committed to ensuring that all children and young people have the opportunity to play football in a safe environment.
The Club has signed up to the FA’s Anti Bullying and Child Protection polices and copies of these can be found on the website. AFC also advocates the FA’s Respect programme which involves a number of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in football- on the pitch and from the sidelines.
All Managers, Coaches and helpers who have regular contact with the children must have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check which is carried out via the FA Furthermore, the Club has a Welfare Officer (CWO) who has undergone training on Safeguarding Children and has experience of working in a Children Services department of a local authority. The CWO is responsible for ensuring the CRBs checks are carried out, offers guidance to managers and parents about safeguarding children and is the contact between the County Welfare Officer and the League Welfare Officer.
